Heard some important information on Twitter today, and thought I’d post it here for anyone who may not have heard it. This is actually a thing, devised by human rights organisation called Karma Nirvana.
I don’t care how much you travel, everyone should have a go bag. I never leave home without it. It stays permanently in my messenger bag. The idea is that if I get a whim to travel, I can leave in an instant. Here’s my go bag stash:
Rut Sack – I got this at a charity event. You can spend hundreds of dollars on these but it’s not worth it. Just pick one that works.
Kiehls – face wash, shaving cream, moisturizer. You can find a Kiehls store in pretty much every airport. Stop by and sweet talk the girl behind the counter into giving you extra samples. I can usually get them to give me the tester bottle too. This stuff rocks.
Dark Spot Corrector – I went to a dermatologist who scolded me for having dark spots at my age. The guy was a dick but had a point.
Sun Screen – I’m great about wearing it but the normal kind makes me breakout. Then I heard about this stuff with Zinc as the active ingredient. No more breakouts.
Razor – Dollar Shave Club rocks. Sharp blades for less than a buck. If you don’t know, now you know.
Deodorant – You know those pit stains on your t-shirts? It’s rusting aluminum from your deodorant. Try Tom’s Unscented and make your shirts last longer.
Hair Putty – I love the Evo stuff. Super popular in Australia but just now coming to the U.S. Gives the perfect amount of hold without the shine.
Book – I picked this one up in the London airport. It’s about soccer hooligans. Pretty entertaining. Perfect for takeoff and landing.
EmergenC – Airports are cesspools. Pop an EmergenC at takeoff so you don’t spend your entire trip sick. The orange flavor is the best.
Lint Roller – The last thing you want to do is walk into a club with blue lights and a bunch of lint shows up. I learned this the hard way.
Chap Stick – I’m a Nazi about Chap Stick. Always have to have it around. Once you start using it you’ll never stop.
Passport – Its more wishful thinking than anything else, but I always carry it around. Never know where you’re going to end up.
